The Consonant Mem מ and Yod י

מ “Mem”, this letter is pronounced as “m”. It is pronounced exactly just like in the word “mine”.

ם “Final Mem”, this letter is actually same with “Mem”, the only difference is “Final Mem” is placed in the end of the word. For Example:

אַם	Am
מָא	Ma
מָאַם	Maam

Therefore, it is actually a clear difference that the letter “Mem מ” is placed in any positions, except in the end of the word, while “Final Mem ם” is placed if the letter “Mem” is on the end of the word.

י “Yod”, this consonant is pronoucned with “y” just like in the word “you”. For example:

אַי	Ay
יָא	Ya

Vowel Khireq אִ dan Tzere אֵ

אִ “Khireq”, this vowel is pronounced with “I” just like in the word “instinct”. For example:

יִ	Yi
מִ	Mi

אֵ“Tzere”, this vowel is pronounced with “e” just like in the word “messy”. For Example:

אֵי	Ey
יֵם	Yem
