The Story of the Great Flood In Ancient Greece

I am quite amazed when I read the ancient Greek myth, I found a story about the Great Flood which is almost similar like in the Bible story.

"And when Zeus would destroy the men of the Bronze Age, Deucalion by the advice of Prometheus constructed a chest, and having stored it with provisions he embarked in it with Pyrrha. But Zeus by pouring heavy rain from heaven flooded the greater part of Greece, so that all men were destroyed, except a few who fled to the high mountains in the neighborhood."
Greek: ἐπεὶ δὲ ἀφανίσαι Ζεὺς τὸ χαλκοῦν ἠθέλησε γένος, ὑποθεμένου Προμηθέως Δευκαλίων τεκτηνάμενος λάρνακα, καὶ τὰ ἐπιτήδεια ἐνθέμενος, εἰς ταύτην μετὰ Πύρρας εἰσέβη. Ζεὺς δὲ πολὺν ὑετὸν ἀπ᾽ οὐρανοῦ χέας τὰ πλεῖστα μέρη τῆς Ἑλλάδος κατέκλυσεν, ὥστε διαφθαρῆναι πάντας ἀνθρώπους, ὀλίγων χωρὶς οἳ συνέφυγον εἰς τὰ πλησίον ὑψηλὰ ὄρη.

I am really amazed by the fact that the Greeks also have the story of the great flood.

But in this story, Zeus was so angry so that he would wipe out humans with Great Flood, but Prometheus, the Titan, instructed Deucalion to build an ark which would save him from the wrath of Zeus.

Damn, it's indeed scary. Did the Great Flood really happen in the past? Were the Titans and Giants real? Scary man!!
